The Executive (Xec)
The Highland Youth Voice Executive Committee ensures that the work of HYV carries on between main meetings. They meet regularly to ensure the issues arising from HYV meetings are followed up with action. They also attend relevant meetings of decision-makers, and play a major role in the planning, development and smooth running of the full parliament meetings.
The Executive Committee consists of 16 members (2 from each of the old council areas- Caithness, Sutherland, Ross & Cromarty, Inverness, Nairn, Skye & Lochalsh, Lochaber and Badenoch & Strathspey). Highland MSYPs are also invited to meetings.
On the second day of Xec meetings, there is a campaign group meeting. A different campaign group is invited to each Xec meeting. Campaign group members will get the change to talk with officials relating to the work of their campaign group and also keep up to date with one another.
